PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU REGISTER, IS IMPORTANT!!!!  

Event : SHIMANO Burung Hantu 2018
Date : 20th & 21st October 2018
Venue : Rumah Melaka, Bukit Katil, Melaka  
Flag Off Time: 8.30PM

Registration Fee :

• Priority RM90 (Limited to 300 participants ONLY) 

•  Normal RM70 (Limited to 2000 participants ONLY)  

 
Jamboree Rides  : Priority 300 pax, Normal 2000 pax ONLY  
Important Rule: No Number plate, no lights, no helmet....NO RIDE 
This year’s jamboree is carried out differently as our previous event. Riders can choose between 2 rides:- Priority or Normal jamboree. Riders from the priority ride group will be placed at the front of the starting line. The overall result will include riders from the both categories on limited placing (to disclosed further)

Why is priority category different
In Burung Hantu, Priority and Normal category jamboree will be flag off together at the same time. The only difference is, priority category participants will be place at the front queue and anyone whom would like to queue up with the front pack have to register for priority category. This arrangement is used to avoid those late comer always want to cut queue when they are late. There are no timing chip provided. PLEASE TAKE NOTE BEFORE YOU REGISTER. PRIORITY category participants would need to pay extra of cause will queue infront.

How to take part?
1st make sure which category you want to join. Refer below for further information

For Priority jamboree registration

1. Download the Registration form
2. Fill in all the details needed in the registration form and enter the Event Category column as Priority
3. Bank-in the Priority category registration fee of RM90 per person made payable to Maybank Acc Name: Daniel Tay Chia Fatt and Maybank Account No: 114357129591
4. Then, email us the complete registration form(s) with SIGNATURES of EACH PARTICIPANTS in EXCEL or PDF format, together with your bank-in proof to our email address ecc.malacca@gmail.com.
5. Collect your goodies on that day and be at the starting point before flag off time 8.30PM. 
6. *Most important is you will have the chance to be place at the front before the Starting point.

For Normal jamboree registration:

1. Download the Registration form 
2. Fill in all the details needed in the registration form and enter the Event Category column as Normal
3. Bank-in the Normal category registration fee of RM70 per person made payable to Maybank Acc Name: Daniel Tay Chia Fatt and Maybank Account No: 114357129591
4. Then, email us the complete registration form(s) with SIGNATURES of EACH PARTICIPANTS in EXCEL or PDF format, together with your bank-in proof to our email address ecc.malacca@gmail.com.
5. Collect your goodies on that day and be at the starting point before flag off time 8.30PM.
6. You are not allowed to queue infront or in the priority group. You will be identified by plate number colour.

Closing date for registration: 30th September 2018 or 300 Priority participants and 2000 Normal entry participants (whichever comes first)

All registration are to be sent by email to us at ecc.malacca@gmail.com with SIGNATURES of EACH PARTICIPANTS in EXCEL or PDF format. We do not accept any other format of forms. (No jpg, words, txt files, email). Also No fax or registration by hand. ANY SUBMISSION OTHER THAN EMAIL BY EXCEL or PDF FILE, WILL PROCEED FOR BURUNG HANTU 2030 REGISTRATION.

Please do not argue when you don't get your goodies or plate number on that day. This is to make sure we have a smooth registration for our secretariat. Your cooperation is much appreciate.

Charity… Every RM5 from your registration fee will go to charity as usual like previous year. We make this Burung Hantu happen because we love cycling and we love to organise a night MTB event for every avid mountain bikers to enjoy.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR INSURANCE POLICY IS VALID. This is a NON-PROFIT making event and is organized by volunteers who have sacrificed much of their time, energy and money FOC. We are not to be burdened by legal issues during and after the event, thus signatures of every participants are important. Riders must wear safety gear (helmets, shoes and hand gloves) during the event ride.  

Do not litter and take care of our environment.....you don't like haze, so do we, and we don't want rubbish. Your rubbish is the environment burden........See you on the day and enjoy the ride.

SHIMANO BURUNG HANTU 2018 cycling regulations

As this is a nightly event, we emphasize riders to obey rules and have proper equipment list below during the ride.
THINGS TO BRING
• A bike that’s properly serviced and in tiptop condition.
• Helmet Compulsory for your own preservation.
• Torch light. Compulsory as you’ll need it to guide you in the dark.
• Extra batteries. Average battery life is 2 hrs. So additional batteries is needed to go on further.
• Back light (Red Light), so that when you are On The Road, the car from the back will notice you.
• Mini tools.
• Spare tubes (2pcs) and patches.
• Pump.
• Insect repellents.
• Mobile phone.
• Bright or Lumisnescent wear. Easy to notice you while you are riding
• Raincoat... COMFIRM RAIN as our rain occurs everytime during our previous Burung Hantu event.
• Water bottle / Camelback. (Please take note as well we will be using refill system as how we had done on previous year. If you think this is too slow, please bring your own water bottle or camelback. We have been practicing this since 2010. We would like to avoid any liter and waste of water. Drinking water is for you to drink and it is not meant for you to clean your bicycle or the mud on your body. Your friends at the back need drinking water as well.)

RULES OF RIDE
Please slow down at junctions and watch out for these signs. Marshals will be stationed only at critical points to help guide riders. There will also be official Sweepers who will move into the trails after the cut off times for each stage. If you are unsure of the turnings and can’t find the signage, go back to the last seen trail marker and wait for the Sweepers.

Since this is a night ride event, we encourage group riding as you can rely on each other when help is needed. Sweeper will only carry those rider who are really injured and couldn’t continue the ride to the nearest check point to wait for the LORRY. Rider who reach the check point after the cut off time will ask to take the chicken loop or up to the LORRY. You are strictly not allowed to continue the ride after the cut off time of the check point. We understand you are paying for the ride, but you still need to follow our rules and regulation.

You can expect trail congestion during the initial parts of the ride, especially on the narrow single tracks. Stronger riders are advised to come to the front during flag off. If you should stop during a climb, do quickly move to the side of the trail and allow other riders to pass. This will help reduce trail congestion. Do give prior warning when passing a slower rider and only where the trail is wide enough to pass
